Perils of Church-Related Pensions for the Wall Street Journal

Today I shot a quick portrait of James Lipscomb for the WSJ. Story Here

James Lipscomb, stands in front of the Central Lutheran Church in Downtown Minneapolis. Lispcomb was an editor and art manager of Augsburg Fortress, the official publishing house of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, for 33 years until he was laid off at the end of 2008. Through a loophole granted to organizations affiliated with churches he saw his pension cut by more than 30%.

Meteorites for the Wall Street Journal

On Monday I received an assignment to head to Livingston, Wisc. to photograph meteorite hunters. Mike Farmer 38, a meteorite hunter from Tuscan, Ariz., looks for meteorite fragments on a farm in Mifflin. On April 14, a large meteor estimated to be the size of a Volkswagen beetle size split apart and lit the night sky of Southwestern Wisconsin. Farmer has spent the last 14 years hunting meteorites which has taken him to over 60 countries. Story Here
